50km Inner City Loop

Great start to the morning commencing with the ANZAC Bridge and brekky in Balmain. Then into the City over the Pyrmont Bridge and up the King St Cycleway . Through Hyde Park for a glimpse of Art and About then up Oxford St and into Centennial Park for 5 laps (ca. 20km) of average 32 kph.

Lunch in Potts Point then a test of the bike’s torsional stiffness with a fast descent and switchback into Woolloomooloo. A gentle climb and lap of the Yurong Precinct, through Martin Place then down to The Rocks for a banana smoothie refuel before returning home to Pyrmont.

The computer that ROX!

Purchased and fitted the new SIGMA ROX 8.0 on the bike this evening.

Awesome German engineering that delivers more than the usual speed, distance and time functions.

The ROX 8.0 features include:-

– Cadence
– Heartrate (via heartrate belt)
– Calories
– Stopwatch / Countdown Timer
– Temperature
– Altitude
– Gradient (percentage)
– Ascent / Descent Rate (m/min)

This year’s goal is to maintain an average 30km/hr and complete the ride in 3 hours or less.

You can even experience using the ROX online.

Sydney to Gong 1st Timer

This will be my first time formally taking part in the MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride.

I look forward to the challenge of completing the ride in 3-4 hours but more importantly raising much needed funds to support people affected by MS.

This year I will be on a 2009 Scott Limited Frame (hydroformed alloy, race geometry) with Scott Speedster S30 FB componentry (Shimano 105 groupset, Truvativ Elita Road crankset, ADDICT carbon fork, Alex race rims, Bontrager 700x23C tires) – see picture.

Please sponsor me and help raise my goal of $10,000 by clicking here
