2010 MS Sydney to the Gong

This will be my second time taking part in the MS Sydney to the Gong ride after a very enjoyable ride last year.

Am looking forward to completing the picturesque ride in 2½ hours but more importantly raising much needed funds to support those affected by MS.

This year I will be on a 2010 Cervélo S2, SRAM Red gruppo, Zipp 404 wheelset.

21km Stuart Park to Bulli Return Run

07:00 – Wake up, sip a cup of warm water and down an Up’n’Go Energize
07:15 – Warm shower and stretch
07:45 – Arrive Stuart Park, warm up with a light jog to Belmore Basin and back
08:30 – Commence run
09:10 – Arrive Bulli, refuel with GU Roctane
09:55 – Return to Stuart Park, rehydrate with Gatorade Orange Ice
10:00 – Breakfast @ Diggies (North Beach)

Hopes of a sub 80 minute time were lost as a tight left hamstring and right hip flared up right from the start. But I was there to run, and no amount of pain was going to stop me… And it was worth it for the breakfast!

Sydney to Gong 1st Timer

This will be my first time formally taking part in the MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride.

I look forward to the challenge of completing the ride in 3-4 hours but more importantly raising much needed funds to support people affected by MS.

This year I will be on a 2009 Scott Limited Frame (hydroformed alloy, race geometry) with Scott Speedster S30 FB componentry (Shimano 105 groupset, Truvativ Elita Road crankset, ADDICT carbon fork, Alex race rims, Bontrager 700x23C tires) – see picture.
